Dining
Northwestern Dining is designed to cater to a wide range of dietary needs, ensuring that all students, staff, and visitors have access to nutritious and diverse food options. The campus boasts four dining halls and 11 retail locations, providing ample opportunities to enjoy a variety of meals throughout the day.
One of the key features of the dining program is its community-based approach, which focuses on inclusivity and catering to the diverse dietary preferences and restrictions of the campus population. This emphasis on inclusive dining ensures that no one is left out when it comes to enjoying a meal, regardless of their specific dietary needs or lifestyle choices.
Allergy-Friendly and Gluten-Free Options
Another important aspect of the dining program is its commitment to food safety and accessibility. The Pure Eats stations are designed to provide meals free of the top nine allergens, which include peanuts, tree nuts, milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, soy, wheat, and sesame. These stations also avoid gluten, making them ideal for students with food allergies or sensitivities. By offering these specialized options, the dining program ensures that all students, regardless of their dietary restrictions, can safely enjoy their meals on campus.
Two kosher kitchens at Allison and Elder Dining halls, provide two options at lunch and dinner. Halal dining is provided at all dining halls as well as retail locations in Norris University Center. Vegetarian and Vegan options are available at the Rooted stations and throughout the program. Our Planet Eats station at Sargent Dining Hall focuses on local, sustainable, and plant-forward options. United Table at Elder Dining Hall serves authentic global cuisine.
Northwestern Dining is thoughtfully designed to meet the needs of a diverse community, providing a range of inclusive, safe, and delicious dining options for everyone. Whether it's through kosher, Halal, vegan, vegetarian, or allergen-free options, students can find meals that suit their personal needs and preferences, promoting an inclusive dining experience for all.
